7 Rewilding Lifestyle Tips

The Process of Re-Wilding

Rewild Yourself: Last year I’ve been starting to go on a deep journey within. I started to ‘rewild’ myself. You may ask why I decided to do so? Well, forgot what it’s like to feel ‘alive’, to feel my inner fire and to feel my heartbeat beating loudly to the rhythm of the joy of life. I love to re-awaken my inner fire, my real core beliefs and my true essence by rewilding practices.

Rewilding is a beautiful practice to remember our true essenceour true self, who we are and to remember our true life purpose.

1. Wake up with the sunrise

To do this, don’t close the blinds to the lime and edge. Curtains are usually sufficient unless you live in a place with light pollution such as a city centre.

It is much more pleasant to wake you up by daylight than by an enraged alarm clock :-). If you have to wake up before the sun rises, there are alarm clocks that simulate the dawn light.

2. Walk in the nature

Probably one of the most obvious but also most effective ways to feel more connected with nature is to spend time in it. This can also help us to feel more connected with ourselves as well, as when we spend time in nature we are not distracted by modern-day devices. And there are also different ways that you can ‘be’ in nature too such as:

walking, sitting on a bench, getting your hands muddy and planting things in your garden, listening to the birds outside your window, dipping your feet in a cool stream, climbing a tree or lying in a field.

3. Walk barefoot

If you desire to rewind yourself, go into nature, find a local park or grassed area. Take off your shoes and feel the soil, grass, wood etc. underneath your feet. By doing so, we re-connect to nature/spirit / Mother Earth / Pacha Mama etc. This comes with many benefits:

  • improving balance and body awareness
  • stimulating acupressure points at the soles of the feet
  • pain relief
  • improving mechanics of the hips, knees, and core
  • relief from improperly fitting shoes, which may cause bunions, hammertoes, or other foot deformities
  • stronger leg and calve muscles, which support the lower back region

4. Take a cold shower

Cold plunging is an effective practice to rewild yourself and rejuvenate all the cells of your body. Lengthen the time of cold showering every day, you can start with just 10 sec.

The Ice Man – Wim Hof Method is a great way to start learning about breathing through cold 🙂

5.Rewild your home

You do not even need a terrace. A couple of pots are enough to initiate your reconnection with the plant world. Feel the earth in your hands, study the seeds, and soak up the different aromas of the plants.

6. Eat probiotic-rich food

Our gut and skin health are interlinked, which means that whatever we put into our body is reflected on the outside. Try and eat 30 different plants a week and supplement with probiotics. There is lots of research to show that taking an oral probiotic improves skin barrier function throughout the body.

7. Apply probiotic skincare

Pre-, post- and probiotics can help rebuild the skin barrier and increase diversity in the skin. Probiotics are another name for good bacteria, but as well as bringing this new bacteria to the skin, we need to feed the ones that are already there and already part of your microbiome – they want to help. I use a lot of them within the Esse skincare products line.
